Why this Mercury Retrograde is so impactful! ⚡️⚡️
Mercury turns retrograde in Leo around midnight on Thursday, while sextile to Venus in Gemini. This Mercury Retrograde calls for a "reset" on what we value and how we do love & relationships!

1.
Mercury Retrograde through Leo begins
Mercury Retrograde happens 3 times a year, in the 4th month, after a period of 3 months has passed by. It is cyclic in this way. We gather up 3 months of new experiences and then we earn a 3-week break to integrate it all and catch up on what we might’ve missed. That’s what Mercury Retrograde is, essentially.
Mercury Retrograde is a calling to slow down and to listen to the parts of yourself that are easy to skip over in all the hustle and hurrying - which is the pace of life most of us contend with. It is time to listen in, reflect on and integrate the multi-tiered voice of our own mind. Doing so frees us up to a deeper level clarity in ourselves; and from this new mindset, we embark on 3 more months of experiencing when Mercury returns to its direct motion after retrograding.
Mercury, after all, is the Messenger of the Gods, ruler of commerce and crossroads and all scenarios in which a “way-finding” is present.
To us, in our personal Astrology Chart, Mercury articulates how we take in, think about, calculate and communicate information. Information is always in the flow. It’s the thoughts we’re thinking, the phrases we’re reading, the utterances we’re speaking.
Mercury in our Astrology Chart shows us how we know things. Why we see things the way we do, how we make sense of our experience, and what we are likely to share when communicating with others. Its wonderful to realize that some people think entirely in emotions and others through the thrust of their will!
Mercury Retrograde offers a space to grow into yourself with new understanding and depth.
Astrology, as an art of Divination, encompasses the Hermetic principle, “As Above, So Below”. So when Mercury is under the influence of its Retrograde, some people experience this unfamiliar call to listen to the voice of the Cosmos for the purpose of to self-reflecting as inconvenient traffic situations, missed flights, unpaid bills showing up unexpectedly, and chance-meetings with people we’d lost touch with.
It doesn’t make you at fault of anything if something goes haywire as Mercury inches its way into a Retrograde, it’s just the Universe opening up a space for you to think differently and we all need this reminder from time to time.
This time, Mercury Retrograde is transiting the sign of Leo. The Zodiac sign of Leo is ruled by the Sun and signifies the Self, who is luminous, creative, loyal and worthy.

Wherever the sign of Leo falls in your Zodiac chart - this points to an area of your life that is an essential part of your journey towards Success, Satisfaction and Self-Actualization. So this Mercury Retrograde promises to wake up something inside you that really matters.
The twist is that Mercury rules over the sign of Gemini - which stormy Uranus has just entered. This ties in the unpredictable events of personal awakening that Uranus promises to this Mercury Retrograde cycle. So circumstances might really get eclectic.

Saturn Retrograde gets tangled with Mercury Retrograde
Also occurring: our newly minted Aries transits: Neptune and Saturn, who each entered Aries for the first time this past Spring initiating big shifts, are now also both in Retrograde too.
Planets in Retrograde were known by Ancient Astrologers to be under the will of the Fates. The circumstances they bring are hard to predict and harder to control. Reckoning retrograde energy is a lesson in spiritual surrender and acceptance of what is beyond our personal control.
Saturn went Retrograde in Aries about midnight Saturday night. This can feel like a real energy of frustration, a feeling of being stuck!!
For example!

On Sunday, I woke up to an email informing me I was being charged $50 for a subscription service I hadn’t knowingly signed up for. When I challenged the charge, I was presented with the “small print” on a link I’d clicked for some marketing advice.
Miffed, I walked outside to appreciate the blooms in my perennial flower garden. Just as I bent over to pull out a few unwanted weeds, a bee flew up the loose leg of my pajama-pants and stung my thigh! Then its sister-bee, responding to the alarmed buzzing of her Hive-mate, circled my torso and landed her stinger right in the side of breast!
By now, I am running back to the house and quickly as can be, stripping down and releasing the disoriented bee who was caught in the fabric folds of my pants, now strewn on the floor.
This is a classic Saturn Retrograde in Aries on the Cusp of Mercury Retrograde in Leo moment! One Sunday morning gripe ignites into a spiral of stinging circumstances!

Mercury Retrograde dances with Venus in Gemini!
I predict, this Mercury Retrograde cycle will be full of love and friendships restored.
Mercury is Gemini’s ruling planet and the beautiful, benefic planet Venus is now in Gemini at 15°. Mercury will station (standstill) at 15° of Leo before beginning to retrograde, bringing these two planets into a perfect 60° sextile angle.
Sextiles bring two planets into a mutually beneficial accord. Mercury and Venus in a sextile is like Mercury and Venus trying to date each other. Each is showing off their most attractive face. They bring out the best in each other.
Venus, as a planetary archetype, represents what we love, how we romance and what we value. This is a great indicator that Love & Values will be an important theme coming up for reflection over this Mercury Retrograde (which goes until August 11th, and is fully complete as a cycle by August 26th).
